Book an eye exam

At Glimpse & See Eyewear, we recommend an eye exam to keep your eyes healthy, regardless of age or health. A comprehensive eye exam not only determines your prescription for glasses and contact lenses, but also screens for any possible eye diseases. Eye diseases are not limited to vision problems, so early detection of these ailments before they become serious is the reason why eye exams are so important. Glimpse & See Eyewear has a registered optometrist accepting bookings for appointments to examine your eyes.

When preparing for your eye exam, we would like you to bring your most current pair of glasses, no matter how old they are. If you wear contacts, please make sure to remove them the night prior to your appointment and attend the appointment without your contacts on. If you opt for dilation, you may also need a ride home.

OHIP Coverage:

If you are at the age of 19 or younger, or 65 and above, you are eligible for a full eye examination every 12 months. If you are between the ages of 20 to 64, you are only eligible to OHIP coverage for an eye exam every 12 months if you have any of the following conditions: diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, cataract, retinal disease, amblyopia (lazy eye), visual field defects, corneal disease, strabismus (crossed eyes), recurrent uveitis or optic pathway disease. If you have a medical condition that is not listed, please discuss with your primary health provider if you may be covered for eye exams.

When attending your appointment, make sure to have a valid OHIP card on hand for the doctor to check if you are entitled to eye care services covered by OHIP. If the appointment is a referral, please have the referral on hand as well.

Payment and Insurance:

We accept cash, debit, Mastercard, Union Pay, and Visa. We do not directly bill insurance for eye exams, but we will provide the receipt needed for submission to insurance. If you need assistance in filling out forms for insurance, we would be happy to help.
